BBC RADIO 1

2.BBC renamed their radio channels  . The radio channels all featured different aspects of music .

3. Pirate radio was not regulated by bbc and as a result it became more popular and much more easy to set up .

4. It was outlawed by government officials and became illegal .

5. They employed pirate radio broadcasters to attract consumers .

6. Needle time was played 5 hours a day maximum and pirate radio didn't have those restrictions .

7. It played more popular music than other radio stations .

8. the first broadcater was Tony Blackburn .

9. It appealed to younger audiences  as his style and personality and humour attracted younger audiences .

10. he borrowed from pirate radio which made it very different .

apple beats radio

1. We don't listen to it live however we listen to it when its on demand or apps such as spotify and iTunes .

2. It lauched in 2015 and it was a free streaming service .

3.Beats 1 radio required a subscription and once paid you are into the entire music catalogue however you do not own the music . Apple beats 1 is free and doesn't require a montly subscription .

4.Apple anticipated that if we they got consumers in apple beats radio it would encourage the radio consumers to purchase iTunes music which would mean more money for apple .

5. They had existing fan base therefore if they were appointed by apple they could bring their niche audiences with them .

6. They are on demand and can be listened at anytime compared to other streaming services which broadcast it online .

7. She focuses on indie music compared to radio 1 which focuses on pop music .

8. This strengthens music industry because by providing well known music created by well known djs this could encourage other radio enterprises to do the same .

9. There were a range of competitors and the biggest one was the BBC as they had one of the biggest fan bases in the radio industry so therefore apple weren't sure whether they would be a huge success.

10 Beats 1 radio goes against expected nature of radio as consumers mainly listened to this for information purposes and the news . The fact that now music is streamed and broadcasted in radio stations this could mean that radio is much different than what it was especially in the 1960s.

AUDIENCE

1. It was a young adult group who was targeted with consumers who have passion and interest in music industry and even radio industry .

2. A personal relationship is established between the music that consumers listen to .

3.They can comment during livestream so radio personnel would produce music that consumers actually want to listen to .

4.Its aimed at a niche audience because the DJs don't have a mainstream fan base .
