  • Ram is part of BAME community as he is part of an Asian minority group.
  • Tanya (Donor) also part of BAME community as she is part of black minority . 
  • April (protagonist) is part of the white majority group as she is white . 
Iconography:

  • Supernatural sword that April beholds as she has connection with Shadow Kin .

1. Gender representation of the character of April is very positive as she holds the most human power in the series . She has supernatural powers as she has a connected heart with shadow kin . Most commonly its the male which holds the power but this ideology is subverted . 

2. Its very young as most characters In class are teenagers . teenagers are seen as troublesome and selfish however that is not the case as they are heroes of the planet of earth . 

3. Voyeuristic Pleasure as it almost make the audience feel like they are part of this journey on defeating the shadow kins .

Personal relationships : April and Rams relationship as they fall in love . 

Diversion : The rift into the world of the shadow kins and a insight into a dystopian world .

1 They didn't have a specific target audience as it was broadcasted on live Tv however the target audience less commonly use live tv and they also didn't make Top 20 in uk broad casting . 

2 People who have an interest in scifi and love science televion Tv drama .

3 Race and ethinicity is very diverse in class as it illustrates BAME community as part of its interests e,g characters such as Tanya and Ram.

4.disability is very widely shown such as Aprils mum who has a walking disability as she has been endangered by Aprils father .

SECTION 4

1. To inform and entertain young audiences .

2. They weren't getting as much views so decided to broadcast online so audiences could watch at anytime whenever they want .

3. They met the statement because as the setting is very educational as its in the setting of a High School and also they grab audiences attention as they denote a diversity of characters from minority groups .

4. The Tv show was only watchable at late night 10;30 pm which is a unsuitable time for young audiences , especially on school days .

Doctor Who

Language

1.
Narrative : Two Teachers are worried about a student by the name of Susan , she performs well in class however her grades slipped and when they find out about her address they find a junk yard . The teachers follow up through this and decide to investigate and take matters to their own hands .

Characters : Ian Charleston(teacher) , Barbara Wright(teacher) , Susan(student)

Iconography : The tardis , The junkyard , The Tardis controls links to the sci-fi theme.

Setting : At the begging its a school , then the junkyard , then the Tardis .

2. Equilibrium happens when Teacher is in his classroom however equilibrium is disturbed when Barbara Wright comes in and decides to have a conversation about Susan ( a student she is worried about in class).They decide to investigate Susan's house address however they fail and find a junkyard instead . They find a police box afterwards and after a while they meet the Doctor which is Susan's grandfather . They come to the discovery that Susan is trapped in a police box but realise that it is a dimensional space machine which travels around space . Doctor cannot risk for them to find out their secret so he sends the teachers alongside Susan to a dilapidated and abandoned supposed alien planet .

3.Susan : Seen as the princess as teachers believe she need saving from her terrible grandfather .They feel she is being abducted by her Grandfather .

Ian : Seen as the Donor in the scene as he helps out Barbara with her case .

Barbara : The hero because she wants to save Susan from harm almost treating her like her own daughter .

Doctor : Seen as the villain because he sends the teachers to an abandoned planet.

4. One of the enigma codes could be the Tardis , it links to the sci-fi theme of space travel and also the idea of supposed aliens on a abandoned planet .

REPRESENTATION

1. Stereotype of men are reinforced when the Doctor is head of Susan , enforces stereotype of men being in charge of females and connoting that females have a little powerplay . The scene was first made In 1663 where women were seen as domesticated at that time .

2.Subverts stereotype of Barbara looking Susan showing she has significance in Susan's life . Also stereotype is enforced when Susan is a top class student In her school . She scores top scores subverting the stereotype that females are less knowledgable than males . Males were seen as more intelligent at the time when Doctor Who was being casted .

3. Young and Old together were seen as inappropriate and offensive however this attitude has changed throughout time when later on the series females are with males in many adventures and seen as completely normal .

4. White majority groups are still denoted as being the ultimate domination in education and science as all the characters in Doctor Who are white .

1.The target audience is mainly old teenagers to young adults .

2. It would mainly be Mainstream audience who favour sci-fi theme series or films . Could also be people who are interested and passionate about science .

    Diversion:When they find space ship , takes you away from reality and brings you to a fictional environment .
