The title of my 2 minute sequence will be called "Man On The Run" . The story of this 2 minute sequence is about 2 young teenagers who are being chased by an unknown and unseen alien who wishes to cause harm . Both teenagers attempt to escape however not both escape . Its up to both teenagers to try and help each other survive from the unknown and unseen monster . My 2 minute sci-fi clip will appear at the start of series1 and episode 1 .
MEDIA LANGUAGE AND REPRESENTATION .
In my 2 minute sci-fi clip I hope to achieve a narrative in accordance to Todorov's Theory . I establish and equilibrium with the character of Zak when he is suspiciously walking out of his home towards a dark ally way . I then establish a disequilibrium when the character of Zak is being followed by a unseen human looking alien . The new equilibrium is then established when Zak is running away from the alien . The first shot will be an over the shoulder shot of Zak closing his door . This is then followed by low shots and medium shots of him walking in the ally way .The third section will then feature a low running shit of Zak running away from the alien . Zak in the 2 minute sci-fi sequence is presented as a typical troublesome teenager as he is suspiciously walking around a dark ally way late at night . This enforces the stereotype of teenagers of being troublesome and suspicious . The character of Zak is also a black character which makes part of BAME community as he is from a black minority group . There is also another character who is called Ayham who is similar to Zak . He is also walking in the same location however on different days . Ayham is a mixed race character who is also part of BAME community . The location of the two minute sequence takes place near a house and also near a dark ally way in a neighbourhood . The 2 minute sequence has many enigma codes which connote a sci-fi them such as a dark location . this is frequent in sci-fi clips and films as the alien is most of the time very rarely seen .
AUDIENCE
My target audience in my 2 minute sci - fi clip is towards a family audience who enjoy other similar sci-fi shows such as Doctor Who and CLASS . It is towards a family audience as It does not feature any swearing or violence or any other violent aspects and features . There are many audience pleasures that my audience would enjoy such a personal identity theme . The use of teenagers could relate with other teenage viewers who enjoy sci-fi films . It also provides a sense of excitement as a binary opposition is denoted in the clip of human vs alien , Evil vs Good . This is extremely significant as it makes the viewers feel like they are the character themselves . Ayham and Zaks' sense of personality relates to other teenager viewers too .
