Denotation and Connotation ( Water Aid)

Denotation;In this picture we can see a child looking depressed and we can see that he is in need of food or water .The picture also shows him wearing ripped clothes , we can also see that he is next to a hard rock wall.We can also see green huge trees in the background .

Connotation ; We can see that the child is sick but he clearly does not look well and based on his clothes it may imply that he does not have a various of clothes to choose from as his clothes are ripped . The Water Aid company is a way of people who see this advert feel sympathetic as they do not have any clean water to drink from. Also the Water Aid company is a message and a way to show how fortunate you are and there is people all around the world who do not have clean water.

Analysis; The text also implies sadness and that people should spend their time on something else , the industry or company uses a imperative which is "Dig Toilets , Not Graves. The background is another of the various ways to show that they need as its a hot place and usually you need clean , fresh water in hot places.
